What former attendees have to say about this initiative:
I found it encouraging and refreshing to listen to pertinent questions being responded to with robustly Christian answers. I thought the conference format was excellent, the juxtaposition of ideas enabling a continuity of thought and interaction of different approaches. The political authorities talk was something I'd been wanting to hear for about 3 years so was brilliant. The focused social scientific approach was also invaluable, as it not only put us together and so enabled more directed conversations, but also allowed for much more specific, targeted talks which addressed the kinds of questions we were already thinking about - which is pretty rare. It was a great experience overall! I feel better equipped to articulate the problems of faith in the world, even if I don't have all the answers. I have spoken with 2 friends about the conference since and felt fairly confident in outlining and repeating what I had learned and picked up, so feel it was definitely a valuable experience. Thank you! Very stimulating and thought-provoking presentations and discussion - and a good opportunity to meet other graduates with whom to ponder these things.
The Christian Mind programme was very good, from the first series of talks until the conference. I really appreciate that there are many academics that also have an active christian life who can show us a relation between our subjects and God. I think that this conference confirmed even more my belief in God and how he loves us a lot by giving us the gift of nature. And we, as scientists can study it to have a close approach to Him.
